Build Your Readership: Submit To A Blog Carnival
I have often heard popular bloggers mention that one way they increased their blog readership was through submitting to blog carnivals.
A blog carnival is basically a periodic roundup of links to posts on a particular subject. The host of the carnival receives all the submissions and organizes them into a blog post. The people who have submitted articles get traffic to their blog. See my Carnival page for more information.
I was looking for some carnivals to submit to, and did not really see a great one for the “Making Money Online” subject, so I decided to start one. It is called the #1 Carnival of Making Money Online.
If you have any recent posts about any aspect of making money online, and you would like to get more traffic to your blog, submit your posts to this carnival.
The deadline for submitting to the first one is Friday, September 14, and I will post the links on the following Monday. But if you miss the first one, I plan on having one every two weeks. Please only submit recent posts, not very old ones.
After the carnival gets established, maybe I can get some of you to volunteer to host once in a while, and we can rotate blog hosts for it.
I have not actually tried this technique until recently. In the past week, I have submitted to several other carnivals. I will let you know how much it helps my traffic, once I find out. But as I see it, it certainly should help to have your content showcased on other blogs.
