Get Things Done With "Zen To Done"

Zen To Done by Leo Babauta

Have you been looking for a system that would make you more productive? One that would eliminate all your distractions and help you focus on what is important?

I have been looking for something like this since I quit my job to work on my business full-time. I have finally found the resource I have been looking for.

It is the book, Zen To Done, by Leo Babauta. Amazingly, you can purchase this wonderful book at Leo Babauta’s site for only $9.50 at the moment.

Zen To Done builds on the concepts of GTD (David Allen’s Getting Things Done) and Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Successful People, and adds Leo’s own twists to it. I have read both of those books and never got a whole lot out of them. I like Zen To Done a lot better.

Maybe it’s my Feng Shui training, but I like to keep things as simple as possible. That’s what I like about this book. The emphasis is on keeping things simple. It is not an elaborate system like GTD. It is just a set of 10 habits that you practice. Once these habits become ingrained, you are all set.

I did have a few little problems with the book. In his effort to keep it short, I think Leo sometimes glossed over some things that could have been explained a little more thoroughly. For example, I was halfway through the book before I found out what he meant by the acronym MIT (it means Most Important Tasks). If he explained this earlier in the book, I missed it.

But that is just minor stuff compared to the value I have gotten from the book. As Leo suggests, I have just been working on one of the habits (he suggests working at one or two at a time). I don’t have it mastered yet – but I can really see the value of it.

I know a lot of you who are trying to get your internet business going are also struggling with getting your productivity level high. I believe this book is a good resource to help you with that, and you can’t beat the price.

  1. I purchased Zen to Done last week, but still haven’t had a chance to read beyond the intro. It look very good and given other things I’ve read by Leo I have no doubt ZTD will be more than worth the read.

Something tells me I’m going to read through it more than once.

  2. Yes, I am going to re-read it too. He has a lot of wisdom packed into this small book. I think you will really like it.

  3. Getting things done by David Allen is another great productivity book.

  4. Agen Iklan say thank you. Interesting article. Good info, Great work. I’ll check it out to read the book.
