Embrace Your Creative Power

To those of you who want to make money online, I would like to give you this message.
You are creators of something from nothing. This is a very powerful thing to do.
Think about the different ways of making money in an information business.
- You are a blogger. You create something where there was nothing before. You decide on a domain name, set up your blog, get a theme, and start blogging. Your posts come from the creativity inside you. You are giving of yourself to the world. What was once inside your head, is now on your blog for all the world to see.
- You create and sell information products. Again, you are creating something from nothing. You are putting what is valuable inside your head or heart into a creation that will be valuable to many others.
- You are an affiliate marketer. You find products that others will enjoy or find useful, and you recommend them to people. Again it is your creativity that decides what products people will find useful. And your creativity creates the information that you give to people, along with your recommendations. You don’t just throw affiliate links around willy-nilly (if you want to be good at affiliate marketing). You get to know your prospects and help them to find the solutions they need.
Most people online are consumers of information. They go online to be entertained or to find answers to their problems. It is the few, like you, that create that information and those solutions. If it wasn’t for you, the entertainment seekers and answer seekers would have to go away empty-handed.
So remember that what you are doing is very valuable. You deserve to get paid for that, and people are willing to pay. Whether you get paid directly by the people you create for, or by companies that advertise on your blog, etc., in any case, you are being paid because you provide a valuable and rare service.
You might think that there is already so much information on the internet. But it is only a small fraction, compared to the number of people that are looking for information. And a lot of what is there, is frankly, junk. You can do better than that. You can create good content, good products, and good recommendations out of your creativity, your mind, and your heart.
So don’t be afraid to contribute. Be yourself and create something that only you, in your uniqueness, could create. You will be surprised at how many people want what you are offering and creating, if you just put your heart and your whole self into it.

Creating something from nothing. I like the way you think. I get overwhelmed with how much there already is on line. What am I adding? I’ll be a frequent visitor. I’m looking forward to learning from you
Yes, I have found it is best to be yourself and not try to copy anyone. The blogs I like best are those that are unique in some way.
Very motivating advice. Its a very interesting way to look at the work we all do on the web. But should we expect payment for truly creative work?
Doesn’t the ‘need’ for money in some way corrupt the creative process?
I agree with you in one way, that if you “need” money too much, it can show through in what your create. I do think that people deserve to be paid for their efforts though.
I think maybe the thing to do is to create without thinking about money. Instead, think more about helping people. But after you are done creating, charge a fair price for your work. Does that make any sense?
It makes sense but unfortunately there are too many new infopreneurs out there that are too focused on the ‘money’ aspect of the business, not realizing that the creative process can be very hard work indeed.
They become disillusioned with the website business.
People should focus on the creative aspect first and then, as you said, focus on the financial reward.
Pat,
This is an excellent post. I can totally relate to this. The one major aspect of online marketing that I enjoy is the creativity involved.
Creating products, writing, designing, etc., all starts from an idea or an inspiration. Bringing those from the non-physical to the physical realm is one of the ultimate forms of fulfillment.
It’s the perfect win-win… helping others by allowing your own creativity to flourish.

How many times people with hold talents, and creative power out of fear. Your article is really inspirational, and hopefully will have people stepping forward.
I had a gentlemen that had this fantastic idea. He sat on it 3 years, and just the last 6 months finally pulled it together and launched his new website, and product…with great success. His only regret was holding back and waiting.
Stopping your own creative powers will only have you looking back an wondering what if. Like the author says…just contribute.
Hi Pat,
first excellent post!
Right now I am trying to decide whether should I continue working on my website or not. Sometimes you just need a bit of encouragement from someone, someone to talk to or to read something like this. Thank you!
