Solutions to Distractions
Yesterday I posted about how easy it is to get distracted.
A couple of my readers have some great solutions to this problem.
First, Fab of FabNet Revenue has this great tip:
Sometimes I work on my laptop but make sure the wireless is not on. This way, when I am tempted to go on the internet (for what’s supposed to be a minute search but actually last an hour or more…), I create a kind of action barrier and I manage to stick with it.
Then, John W. Furst of E-Biz Booster Blog wrote a really helpful post about how he avoids getting distracted: 10 Tips To Stay On Track. It is a very quick post to read, but there is a lot of profound wisdom in those 10 tips.
In fact, I copied the tips to a Word document and printed them out so I can refer back to them often.
Thanks to both of you for the great tips!

Some great links there Pat, cheers
Thanks Pat. I am happy if this tip can be useful for some people.
Thanks Pat, I am certainly glad you like it. I hope your readers will like it, too.
Pat – Have you tried an AlphaSmart? They’re brilliant. It’s a word processor. That’s it. Runs on three AA batteries that will last for a couple years at a time. After you’re done writing, just use the USB cable and port the copy write into a Word doc, WP post, whatever. No Internet, no distractions.
Ryan, I never heard of the Alpha Smart. I think I’ll stick to my computer for writing. I often want to do research on the internet as I’m writing. I can see how it could be useful if you don’t want any distractions, though.
