I decided to start a blog under my own name because I am going to be creating some information products for you, and I want you to get to know my name. I want you to associate my name with quality products, so that when I create a new product, you will already know that it will be good, if you have purchased a previous product.

This is called “branding”, of course, and it is very important if you are going to be creating your own products to sell online.

Notice also that there is no Adsense on this blog. I have created other blogs with Adsense on them, with great success, but I do not believe that Adsense belongs on a blog that you use to sell your own products.

First of all, you want people to click on the links to buy your products, not on the Adsense links!

Secondly, you want your blog associated with high quality, and Adsense will work against you there.

So, there is nothing wrong with using Adsense if you are not monetizing your blog in other ways. (I will discuss Adsense and affiliate programs in more detail in future posts.) Just stay away from Adsense if you are trying to brand yourself and your blog as “high quality”.
